In Review: Series vs Nationals

The Braves took a huge series against the Washington Nationals this past weekend to extend their division lead over the Miami Marlins to 3.5 games.

Atlanta took the series three games to one, with an aggregate score against the defending World Champions coming in at a solid 24 runs compared to Washington’s 19.

Kyle Wright wrapped up the series with his first victory of the season which also was the first victory of his young career. Notching 6 innings pitched with four strikeouts & two free passes.

Speaking of young Braves pitchers, rookie Ian Anderson secured the 2nd win of the series & 3rd of his MLB career with a final score of 2-1. Anderson was masterful in his start, only allowing one hit through seven innings, with nine punchouts.

Freddie Freeman continued his yearly MVP caliber campaign with 7 hits, 2 homeruns, & 5 RBI’s in the series.

The Braves start their 3 game series against the Baltimore Orioles tonight. Touki Toussaint gets the Game 1 start for the Braves.
