Ozzie’s Doing His Job

Ozzie Albies is on absolute fire. Since coming back from a two-game absence due to injury he hasn’t stopped hitting. In the past week he’s hit four homeruns. Four homeruns, in five games. He’s also now one quarter of only the second team in MLB history to have all primary infielders hit at least twenty-five homeruns in a single season.

The Curaçaoan two-bagger didn’t just start his tear, he’s been at it all season. He leads the first-place Braves in: RBI, stolen bases (tied with Acuña), doubles, triples, and at-bats. On top of the numbers, his durability is almost unmatched. And the best ability is availability. He had an extended injury absence during last year’s shortened season, playing only 29 games. In his 2 career 162-game seasons, he’s not played in four games (2018) & two games (2019). He played 57 games in 2017 when he was called up on August 1st. He’s been here ever since.
