Yesterday was a day that all of Braves Nation wouldn’t have happened, every part of it. BUT, if there’s one pitcher on our staff that can help ease the pain, even just a little bit, it’s today’s starter Max Fried.
Fried is electric, when he’s got his curveball working its game over. Honestly, I haven’t enjoyed someone’s curveball this much since Barry Zito was dropping em off the table in Oakland. And the stats back it up, he was above the 90th percentile in curvespin among MLB pitchers in 2019. The Blue Jays’ lineup is crazy young & equally as talented. Vlad Jr soaks up most of the media attention, but they have an underrated starting rotation, and then add in Bo Bichette & Calvin Biggio and you’ve got yourself a decade long core (assuming the money works out). The Jays have a great combination of speed & power and they’ll quietly come into your town and take the series of you overlook em.
Toronto’s starter today will be Matt Shoemaker. Shoemaker is a guy the Blue Jays organization has very high hopes for. He was 3-0 in 5 starts last year with a 1.57 ERA.
