The Braves improved their 2020 “series record” to 2-0-1 last night on the backs of Touki Toussaint’s tremendous outing & the long ball.
Toussaint turned in a 6.2 inning performance, surrendering only 4 hits & 3 earned runs. He also logged 9, count em, NINE strikeouts. He was exactly the confidence booster Atlanta’s pitching staff needed after losing Soroka for the year.
And now, the man of the hour…
In the bottom of the 9th, with the score tied at 3 runs apiece, destiny called our man Nick Markakis up to bat. On the first pitch he saw he golfed an off-speed pitch onto the walkway in front of the Chophouse. The man went up to bat with danger on his mind, and he sent the hometown Bravos home happy.
